Lucy's 5 Day Clean Eating Plan

My 5 Day Clean Eating Plan

Recently I have been travelling quite a bit, firstly with a trip to our stockist in Dubai, called Ripe, followed quickly by Mallorca to celebrate a family birthday. With that has come a need to reboot my digestive system and start fresh. This is why I have put together a 5-day clean eating plan. As you know, I'm not a nutritionist so these recipes are my choices for clean eating and feeling good!

If you’ve got a holiday planned you might like to try this before you go, or even if you just fancy a bit of a refresher.

I know it can sometimes be quite daunting to have no input on what you are eating while doing one of these plans, so, I have left a lot of it up to your own discretion, so that it works for you and what you like.

There's also a list of snacks you can choose from and how many you want to have during the day. After all, no one can predict how hungry you will get during the day and I believe the key to doing these things successfully is to never feel like you are depriving yourself.

One thing I do advise is drinking as much water as you possibly can to clean out your system. I recommend around 2 litres a day. To spice it up, try adding any combinations of lemon, ginger, strawberries, mint and cucumber. Fruity teas and green tea are also a great substitute if you aren’t in the mood for plain water.

You’ll see from this plan that I tend to avoid dairy because I feel better without it but, it is, of course up to you if you choose to include it.  Also, when doing this if you would rather not have a meal that is laid out, be it because of dietary requirements or taste, then they can be substituted for anything on our website. After all, the key is to enjoy!

So, have a read and simply click on the recipe name for the full recipe details.

Regardless of whether I'm following a clean eating plan or not, my days tend to start the same way and go something like this......:

Wake Up the Right Way

Oil pulling is an absolutely essential first step for me. The best time to do this is right after waking up and before eating or brushing your teeth. We've got lots of information on the benefits and how to oil pull on our website.

Lucy Oil Pulling

After oil pulling for around 10 minutes (you can do this for longer if you prefer), I reach for either a large glass of warm water and lemon, or a glass of apple cider vinegar and water (1-2 tbsp. of ACV and the rest water). This routine can also be done right before bed too if you’re really feeling it.

Once this checklist is completed in the morning, it’s onto the good stuff…

Snacks

I tend to make these in batches so I have enough for a few days......!

Beetroot and Garlic Hummus

Maca and Cacao Bites with Flaxseeds

I like to snack on nuts and seasonal fruit, e.g. peaches, berries, plums, etc. as well so choose these to suit your taste:

Brazil nuts for snacking

peaches (seasonal fruits for snacking)

Apples and peanut butter are always quite satisfying too and don't forget all that granola you made.....it's ideal to snack on!

I hope you enjoy this plan and feel as good I did with it,
