Overeating lots of processed food with added sugars can increase your chance of brain fog that can leave you drowsy and impede your memory. Coconut oil contains 90% saturated fat. This might alarm many people but just remember the brain is 60% fat. The majority of this in the insulation, known as myelin sheath, around the neurons, which help the neurons communicate with each other so your brain can work faster.
Think about the electrical wiring in your house, if this insulation isn’t good enough or worn away it can cause short circuits and cause some of your electrical equipment not to work.
So if you aren't eating the right fats your mental performance, especially short term memory, focus and reaction time will not be at their best.

Blend a tablespoon of coconut oil and the same of unsalted grass fed butter (Kerrygold) with a mug of filter coffee. It’s just like a rich latte, delicious, but make sure to blend properly! This combines the benefits of coffee with that of coconut oil, while the fats in the butter slow the absorption so there is a slower, prolonged release of caffeine compared to the normal quick buzz then crash that can kill productivity. This is the only thing I have every morning, it does sound strange at first but just try it.
